Using a gas BBQ offers more control and constant
heat than using a charcoal barbeque and so the cooking experience is much
more controlled. Food can be cooked perfectly and just as if it were cooked
indoors which removes allot of the risks of cooking outdoors, the heat is
also much more constant as the gas bottles last far longer than the charcoal
which can fade quite quickly.
Gas barbeques are also usually much larger and can cook for many more people
and still produce far superior results. You do not get the smokey, flame-grilled
taste as you would with a charcoal BBQ but if you prefer food to be cooked
perfectly then a gas BBQ is the only way to go.
When you buy a gas BBQ look at the size of the cooking area and the number
of gas burners as this will dictate how much you can cook at the same time.
Most gas barbeques have hoods which help to keep the cooking area clean and
some hoods also have warming racks which makes keeping foot hot nice and
easy. Many gas BBQ's also have side a side burner and shelves at the side
and below which makes storing food and utensils very easy.
There are also lots of quality features to look out for when you buy a gas
BBQ such as an electronic ignition which makes starting the gas burners very
easy. Also look for porcelain finished grills and heating plates as they
reduce burning and ensure even heat diffusion when cooking.
Most gas barbeques use propane gas bottles and these are readily available
at most convenience stores across the UK. They also come with a regulator
and hose so that you can easily connect the gas bottle and the gas bottle
can also often be stored on a shelf at the base of the gas BBQ which keeps
it out of sight.
